As a photographer, it’s always an honor to be invited into a family’s life, even if just for a few hours. Capturing the birth of a new sibling, the bonds between siblings, and the way parents look at their children are the moments that make my job so rewarding.

This sweet family opted for a lifestyle portrait session in the comfort of their home. With three young boys to corral and the addition of their newborn brother, a more relaxed photo shoot was the perfect option.

In years to come, when this family looks back at their photos, I hope they remember not just how their newborn baby looked or how their boys posed for the camera. I hope they remember the laughter, the chaos, the love, and the way their hearts swelled as they welcomed their new baby boy into the fold.

If you’re planning to have family and newborn portraits done, especially if you have multiple children, don’t stress about achieving perfection! The beauty of family photography is in the candid moments and the emotions behind the smiles. Whether it’s a quiet moment of sibling love or the whirlwind of energy as kids run around, these are the images that will tell your family’s story for years to come.

This dainty little lady came to Legacy Portraits at just 2 weeks old. She loved her paci and did not want to let it go! I figured out that I could get her settled, get the focus point on my camera ready and then, very carefully pull the paci out and take a shot! Replace and start again! I think she was annoyed with me constantly taking her paci! Lucky for me, she usually allowed me to get one good photo before she got too angry. Such a little beauty!

Two to love! With a adorable two year old and new twin boys, this family will have some fun days ahead! At just over 5 weeks old they were just over 5 pounds when they came to Legacy Portraits. It has been a while since I have had such tiny ones in my studio! The only way I could tell them apart was that one had a tiny scratch on his nose. I have edited it out in their portraits so… one is Owen and one is Oliver! I just do not know who is who! They are both very cute and cuddly!

I know they will grow so quickly. The newborn period goes by in a frantic sleep deprived haze. How will you remember? Legacy Portraits can help!

With the pandemic, it has been a while since I have a a newborn in my studio. I sure have missed the snuggles! This adorable little bundle was fun to photograph! Though he was awake most of the time, he was very content. With newborns you get what you get! As long as baby is not terribly upset, we just keep going. I did get some sleeping shots but, even some that he appears to be sleeping, were just quick blinks. He didn’t want to miss anything! I thought he did great! He is such a cute baby. I just love his little birdie legs! I know he will fill out fast! I’m glad his parents have these images to look back on forever
