Family portraits are more than just pictures—they are memories, stories, and legacies captured in time. For one special family, the decision to visit Legacy Portraits for their first professional family photo session wasn’t just about getting pictures; it was about documenting a journey that was full of love, growth, and transformation.

This family’s story begins with five biological children raised with love and care. But their journey didn’t stop there. As their children grew, they felt the calling to expand their family further by adopting four more children, each one needing the love and stability a family like theirs could provide. This couple’s dedication to giving these children a forever home and the chance to grow up in a loving environment was nothing short of inspiring.

Despite their growing family and all the love they poured into each child, this was the first time the family had taken professional portraits together. They felt that now, at this stage of their lives, it was time to create a lasting memory of all their hard work, growth, and love. Even their adorable dogs joined in! The family pets, who had become a part of their unique story, made sure the session felt complete.

In a world where time seems to fly by, these portraits serve as a beautiful testament to the power of family, love, and the importance of documenting the moments that matter most. For this family, their Legacy Portraits session wasn’t just about creating photographs. It was about cherishing the now, remembering the past, and preserving the future—ensuring that their story is never forgotten.

I have had the privilege of photographing this now 7-year-old and her family since she was just a little baby. I just love seeing the changes in not just her looks but her personality and maturity. She is one funny kid and kept me laughing during the whole portrait session.

While here for a quick visit we made some time for family photos. These were taken last year and I never put them on my website. Family sometimes takes a back seat. Anyway, this family has grown and changed so very quickly. It’s crazy to think that the oldest daughter is now in the double digits!

The girls are very fortunate to have not only 4 grandparents but, also 4 great-grandparents!! Since the great grandparents were here as well, we had to include them in some photos. Family times together are so important. I know that being in front of the camera can be awkward and uncomfortable. Even if you do not want photos for yourself, it is so special for your family. How will you remember?? Legacy Portraits can help!

Guess who is in the double digits? Yup, this girl is now ten-years-old! She came to Legacy Portraits on her birthday. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate than having new portraits taken. I hope she will always remember this special time in her life when she is not quite a teen but not quite a young child. I’m happy she had a special time in the studio just for her. She is a beautiful girl inside and out!

This little guy was tough at first. He woke up in a grouchy mood and did not want to have anything to do with his portrait session! It took bribes, coaxing and a yellow airplane to get him to warm up! Finally he was a happy and smiley boy. He is just adorable! I love his big thoughtful, brown eyes! One very exciting thing will be happening in his life pretty soon. He is going to be a big brother!! I think he is up to the task! Here are some of my favorite images from his session.
